how to change default podcast settings ?

WHen I point to a podcast and push "settings" I get the individual settings for that podcast, with a box "[_] use default setting". I don't see the way to see what the default settings are, how I change them, and if I can use them partially and then override them in for an individual podcast.

I realize that I should R.T.F.M. or the proper topic, bu I could not find it, so I am posting this again.

p.s. Is there a way to "subscribe" to a specific topic so that I can see when someone has answered this question? or to a topic that I am interested in. I found the "My Subscriptions" page, but it looks as though I can only subscribe to a set of topics.

If you look below the "use default settings" button, those defaults are greyed out, because you have chosen to use them so you cannot override something you've chosen to use.

Turn off the "use default settings" and the options will light up. Those options are; what to do when new episodes are found and which episodes to keep.

With regard to your other question, yes - you can subscribe to posts and be notified by email of updates to a post. First of all, go to *my settings* (in the welcome box at the right of the post) and select *subscribe to topics I create* and *subscribe to topics I reply to.* Also choose frequency that emails are sent to you for subscriptions using the *Send Subscription emails* drop-down menu and click save. That deals with those.

If you wish to subscribe to a topic that you're interested in but haven't contributed to, simply click on the *Subscribe to this Topic* button which is at the top of every thread.

I miss-communicated,

1) I saw the check-box, but what I was interested in is were I set the GLOBAL , Defaults so that all the pod-casts that use them, because the "use default settings" button is checked, are properly set. As it is now the default seems to be:

. Download All
. Keep last 3,

whereas I might like to have the default to "Keep last 7", but don't know where to set the default for all Pod-Casts???

2) I did finally see the options to subscribe to the posts, but I was expecting to do it on an individual topic basis, and as I see from you answer, THANKS, I can only do it globally, (All Created, or All Replied to) or add a subscribe to one that I have not Created or Replied to, THANKS I missed that, where as I did not see how un-subscribe to a specific one that is in my GLOBAL list that I was tired of getting information on without un-subscribing to all of its class.

Though it looks as though the granularity is not as small as I might have liked, I am satisfied that this is good enough, especially since I think I can effectively can turn off a subscription if I don't go in to read it.

Thanks for the help.

Use the drop-down list for *Settings for:* and scroll up to the top of the list where you will see *Podcast defaults.* There is no option for "last 7" but there are enough other choices.

If you wish to stop watching any one topic, even if it's one you contributed to, click on the topic and then click on *Stop watching Topic* which is in the same position as the Watch This Topic link.
