I know this sounds stupid but I cannot see my photos when using time machine. I click on Iphoto library but nothing happens. What am I supposed to do? I can view my documents but not my photos.
You must first open iPhoto and have it in the foreground, then click on the Time Machine icon in your dock. You will then enter Time Machine and be able to view past versions of your iPhoto library.
Is there any way to actually view backed up photos on an external hard drive? I'm backing up photos with a new Macbook running Snow Leopard, but I'd like to be able to view the photos from other (older) computers using the same hard drive. How can I view the actual files? Or do I need to export them to the hard drive in a different way?
If you mean vewing photos in folders;before entering TimeMachine go to iPhoto and right click at any photo>Show File.Choose column view in the finder that opens and then enter Time Machine. You can now browse photos in folders.
