Q: In-ear headphones w/ remote+mic, snapped the connection in half :(
About 2 months ago I bought a pair of the Apple In-ear Headphones with Remote and Mic from Melbourne Airport, duty-free. I love them, and I didn't realise just how much I appreciate the comfort of them compared to standard earphones until yesterday.
I had them plugged into my MacBook which was sitting on the sofa next to me. Somehow I knocked the MacBook onto the floor, sideways such that it landed directly on the connected audio jack for the earphones and snapped the jack in half (mashed it up a bit too):

I'd hate to have to buy a completely new pair just because the little jack is now broken. I've been searching for a replacement connection but haven't been able to find anything. Does anyone know if this is likely to be fixable at a reasonable price (i.e. more reasonable than just buying a new pair)?
It's not like you can just connect any standard earphone jack since it needs to support the channels for the remote and the mic.
Gutted.
