"Notebook" Layout/Template for Pages (iWork '09)?

Hello, I am familiar and love MS office, but I'm trying to move off Microsoft products and use solely iWork '09 for all of my office needs, since I now have a mac. I Love the feature on Word that lets me type my class notes on a notebook style template, and off to the side there are tabs I use for the different subjects I'm going through in my class.

Does Pages (iWork '09) have this feature or is there a template I can download/buy for pages to get this feature?

Any help would be great...thanks!

Pages does not have this built in.

is it possible to print a document and have it come out with the lines/header that are in notebook view? print preview shows it without the lines. thanks!

Sorry but what do you mean by "notebook view" ?

Pages just has templates.

If you mean Layout view, the answer is no, those are non-printing guidelines. Of course, you could take a screen shot of the page if you really need to print them, but then it won't be editable.

Then you need to ask on a Word forum. This one is for Pages.

Since you are familiar with and love Word your best bet might be to stick with it. Pages has nothing like the Mac Word version of Note view or the Windows Word OneNote.

Thanks for the responses everyone I didn't find any template, but I'm just using pages outline template. I just liked the overall look and "feel" of the MS word notebook layout. I'll stick with the basic outline for now.

Have a look at *iText Express* and *iText Pro 09's* notebook template and see if that meets your needs.

They were in the link I provided above.

Are you sure your not talking about Microsoft Onenote?

Either way you might want to look at NoteBook by Circus Ponies ( http://www.circusponies.com/)

The user was originally talking about the amazing Notebook feature in Word 04 and 08.

I take issue with this thread being labeled as "answered", because most of the people didn't understand what it looks like and there was no answer.

I too am seeking to use only iWork and have yet to find a suitable plug-in that matches the functionality. If anyone locates one that can be used for Pages, that would be great. Please share.

In a sense you are right but the only answers are what can you do to approach something similar in Pages (not much), or what alternatives can you offer.

I posted a long list of alternative word processors, which included MacWord OSX as well as the Open source clones.

There are also specific applications for note taking and my link pointed to where you could search for those.
