Services - Building

When I go to the "Services" menu in any application in which they should be available they simply open to "building" which is greyed out. I don't understand what is going on and why a list of services does not appear, as in Tiger, from which I upgraded.
Can anyone help?

Hi Beetone,

You can control what services are available via System Preferences > Keyboards > Services and enable any/all applicable services. Is that what you're referring to?

have you used any 3rd party tools for services manipulation like Service scrubber?
they could be causing this.

Had the same problem Services>Building… for days/weeks. Solved it by doing a Log out and logging back in. The Services menu now woks in all applications as it should.
