Open iWeb and then choose a theme that you like and then click on the blog page and create your blog.

Sign up for a MobileMe account which will be your host and then when you have created your blog in iWeb click on publish and your blog will be published to MobileMe and can be seen on the internet.

Be aware that problems with iWeb's blog are a recurring theme on these forums and you'll be restricted to updating your blog from your Mac. For a blogging platform that's updatable via email and/or a web browser, you could consider the free Posterous platform:

And as an alternative to setting up a basic hyperlink from an iWeb page to your external blog, there is a way to link to it from iWeb's navigation bar.

No, Posterous can't support a blog made in iWeb — the whole point of using an external blog such as Posterous is to avoid making an unreliable blog in iWeb. ...In iWeb, you would simply hyperlink from one of your pages or navigation bar to your blog at Posterous or wherever.

you are talking two different games. blogspot in on the web already. so you can use it by signing in, writing your stuff and saving it.

or you can use iweb if you have mobile me or another place to host the files.

since you are just getting started, I would stick with blogspot for now. see if you like the whole thing and then explore iweb and what it can do. you can always start a new in iweb and on a second page of the site frame embed your old blogger entries until you get them copied over (which you will have to do by hand)

No, posterous.com does not support an iWeb blog. You either need to pay for a MobileMe account for this or pay to register a domain name with hosting so that you have another place to host your files.

If you want to start a blog for free then go to http://wordpress.com or http://www.blogger.com. You can also use http://www.posterous.com which is all e-mail based to set up initially and post blog entries to.
