Quicktime won't Connect to Internet

So I upgraded to QT7, and now the player won't connect to the internet. Such as when I use the update feature builti in, I get the message saying the player can't reach the update server, or when I try to play movies embedded in a website (in which case they simply don't load).

Any ideas on why?
