Sep 19, 2009 3:41 PM in response to Cookymonster12by Kappy,Neither OS 9 nor Classic is supported on Intel Macs or Leopard. There are some emulator alternatives such as SheepShaver and MiniMac - VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
SheepShaver requires a ROM image from an older classic Mac that SheepShaver supports. -
Sep 19, 2009 4:09 PM in response to Kappyby Cookymonster12,So Sheepshaver will do nothing for me since I have the Mac and platform that I do? -
Sep 19, 2009 4:25 PM in response to Cookymonster12by Steve Boultbee,SheepShaver might work, but it really depends on the game and whether it'll run properly under that environment. The Mac version of You Don't Know Jack would never run properly for me.
To use SheepShaver, you need the ROM Image from a supported Mac - this is relatively easy. You need to extract the ROM from "MacOS ROM Update 1.0" which is available from Apple's support servers.
You also need a MacOS 9.0.x install CD. If you don't already have one, you're going to have to find one somewhere. -
Sep 19, 2009 7:10 PM in response to Cookymonster12by Kappy,No, I did not say that. I said you can try using an emulator like SheepShaver or MacMini. But you cannot use OS 9 or Classic (an emulator for PPC Macs using Tiger or earlier) is what I said. -
