Iphone Streaming Audio - How do I do it? I'm weeping with frustration

Hi everyone! After much of deliberation, I bought the iphone 3gs today. It's my first iphone, and I was very exited to finally own one. But you cannot imagine my disappointment when I discovered the phone failing to perform the task I bought it for.

I need to listen to certain university lectures, which are audio only - here's one:

The phone can' do it - apparently there's some kind of server problem. The audio cannot be directly downloaded on my computer and saved, for they stream in real time; each lecture is between 1 and 2 hours long. I desperately need someone's help - perhaps there's an app I could purchase to help me. I would love to keep this phone, but if it cant perform this function, I will be returning it tomorrow, and jumping off the iphone boat after having being on it for only a few frustrated moments.

Many thanks in advance for any efforts to assist me!

(I an in the UK - I don't know if that is significant to the situation)

Just return the phone. Any windows mobile phone will suit your needs. It might not be as sexy, but it will pretty much do anything a PC can do. If it can't stream it, it can download it over 3g to phone and then use WMP to play it locally. Windows mobile is a great, multitasking OS, tens of thousands of apps, only problem is it's interface is dated. Many find it too complicated to use.

I miss my WM phones many days, but I do prefer my iphone. I just don't prefer apples god like control complex.

iphones are not for everyone, they offer most, but not all features many need.

I'm sorry, didn't really mean you as a target, just venting a little... we get LOTS of people on here complaining about the iPhone not doing what they want when a few minutes of basic research in the internet would have told them the answer before they bought the phone. I (we) just get really tired of posters complaining loudly about something that's their own fault. Your case is a bit different though as that is a bit of an obscure site, i.e. no way to know without trying it. Can you not return it under a 30 day window? Sounds like a netbook would be a good option for you.

I really regret buying this phone. It can't even stream audio. I've wasted £180. They advertise the iphone as being able to surf the internet, and it can only access limited parts of it.

Your first post said you bought it on Sept 21. I'm not sure where you bought it, but this is Sept 23 and it seems you could return it NOW and get all or most of you money back -- at least that would be so here.

I suggest you take that course of action.
