WIfi Connectivity Issues.......:(

I'm making a new thread..why? Because this issue has to be addressed and not ignored.

About 2 weeks ago I upgraded to Snow Leopard. 2 Days after the upgrade my Wifi dependancy went down hill. Places where I would browse normally turned into places where I just get mad now. My MacBook has become useless. I use it in school ALL THE TIME and now if i ever do get a signal, it will hold for a good 10 minutes then drop to nothing. Sometimes it will show full bars but no connection. Since the upgrade to Snow Leopard, i've decided to just drop back down to Leopard. Now, since i've installed all the updates, wifi has sucked again. I've read through all the other threads. Even the 9 page one. Everyone is complaining but yet no input from Apple.

I've had my 1st gen white MacBook since the 3rd week they were released and not a problem until I "update". I have a wireless network at home because my modem/gear is in a room where i can keep them hidden. I'm at school a lot because i'm a grad student. This is very frustrating. I've come across the Apple patch but it is not compatible with my hardware.

APPLE...LOOK AT ALL THE UNHAPPY MACBOOK CUSTOMERS. HELLO!!!!!!

Hi rjulao,

Sorry to hear you're having WiFi issues. However, this discussion forum is user-to-user and a not a method of communicating to Apple or as an avenue to obtain technical support from Apple. If you wish to complain to Apple or troubleshoot with them you can do it in a couple of ways:

1.) Call AppleCare
2.) Provide your opinion at http://www.apple.com/feedback
3.) Visit an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider to get technical support

ohai!

I'm sure that Apple monitors these boards. The influx of the +same theads+ being started about the +same issues+ should raise a flag. It raised yours. I'm not rude, just frustrated. I've been through several threads and not a single person has found a definate solution. We need input.

There are hundreds, possibly thousands of threads on battery life across the various Apple portables and in my 3+ years of browsing these boards I've never once seen an official representative of Apple respond.

It's why AppleCare and the Apple Retail Stores exist. Any particular reason you've not picked up the phone and called or made an appointment for your issue?

Ohai again!

Well, the MacBook is just out of the Apple Care period and unfortunately I've wasted my time driving to the Apple store 1.5 hours away because they find nothing wrong the the MacBook. I've tested it on different networks and still the same problem. As you can see from other threads that there has not been a clear concise fix for this problem. Frustrations are at their peak with the product. I'm a faithful Apple user that has an old iBook g4 which works perfectly and an iMac that seems to have no problems at all.

"Downgraded" to Leopard. Installed no updates and works great. Installed updates and same failure. It's an update that was pushed out that kills wifi.

i bit the bullet and purchased to broadcom card (BCM94321MC) from eBay for $18. After a quick 15 minute install it works fine. Waiting for Apple to release an update was not an option as i use my MacBook for EVERYTHING. I am still a little upset that i had to go and buy a card and a screwdriver for this.....sigh only if Apple had a reimbursement program for self fixing costs.
