3.1 Battery nightmare

Since updating my 3G to 3.1 I am getting massive battery charge reduction. I can't get through a whole day now without the 20% warning kicking in around the late afternoon/early evening. If I didn't charge by then it'd be dead by the end of the day. Prior to 3.1 that was never a problem - Something weird is going on.... Anyone else had this?

Same battery problem for me. Before upgrading to 3.1 I could use my iPhone for 2 days having push mobileme emails and wifi enabled at all times, and everything else off. Now after the upgrade, the battery lasts about one day. I have even now turned off wifi and push emails.
Seeing the huge list of comments on that subject in the 3Gs forum, there is definitely something wrong with the lastest upgrade. I'm sure apple will get the fix sooner or later though...

A guy in my local Apple store gave me this hint:

. Run down your iPhone completely.
. Charge for 8 hours (overnight) without using the phone
. Run down your iPhone completely, again. Do not plug into power until it is dead
. Charge for 8 hours (overnight) without using the phone

I do this "double deplete" once every 3 or 4 weeks (when battery life seems too short) and I've found it restores the capacity of the battery.

Of course, I would prefer not having to keep this routine! I would say my usage is "normal": some web, some apps, some mail, some phone.

HTH,

I'm also having this problem. Before I used to get approx. 2 and a bit days out of the phone, with what I would call standard usage (phone, text, web, app etc... with 3G turned off)

Now after 3.1 I'm lucky to get more than 24hrs and thats with 3G off all the time. It's bad enough experiencing 3G issues because O2 ***** in London (so I'm forced to be on 2G when I'm at work), but now to have a phone which can barely make it through the day is just frustrating, especially when the phone is sooooo **** good at what it does.

APPLE, please can you help...
