Ipod touch bluetooth

I think I'm correct in saying that only the 3rd generation Touches have Bluetooth capabilty. I have a 2nd gen model (i think, it's certainly not a 3rd gen) and even though I have the latest software, there is no Bluetooth option.

Don't listen to him. If you have a 2nd generation iPod touch you will get Bluetooth unlocked.If you have a 1st gen there no Bluetooth

I think I did say that 3rd Gens have it and that I wasn't sure if mine was 2nd or not, just that it didn't have Bluetooth.
We still don't know which Gen Touch Rahul has as he didn't say. Until we do, neither of us can definitively say 'Yes you can have Bluetooth' can we?
How do you 'unlock' it from 2nd Gen models by the way? Is it 'legit' or a hack?

there a bluetooth chip in the 2nd gen. It will be unlocked if you get 3.0 or later software. Are you sure you got a 2nd/3rd gen iPod touch?

I have a 16 gb 2nd generation touch with 3.0 software and yes i have bluetooth option in settings. Nothing works though except for bluetooth headphones i've heard. I can pair the touch with my mac but not my PS3 or phone even. Either way no luck in having any significant use for me but it is there.

They're apps out that use bluetooth functions though.

Like JacKP308 said they are apps that use bluetooth functionally.

Example of these are Bluetooth Chat and Bluetooth Photo Share

Bluetooth Chat = chat with other ipod touch /iphone using bluetooth
Bluetooth Photo Share = Share images with other ipod touch/iphone

2nd and 3rd gen do have bluetooth capability with the software update.

You can pair them with stereo headphones and some apps allow the use of bluetooth for Peer-to_Peer applications.
