Pitch Bending Vocals

I would like to pitch bend the last word of a vocal phrase. I am using Express 8 and have a midi keyboard with a pitch bend control. What is the easiest way to do this?

I think there's an answer to this on the Pro forum - that's what I'd do as well anyway, put the vocal phrase into the EXS24 so that you can use the ptich bend wheel as necessary.

Create a new Software Instrument track and load an EXS24 to it. Double click the button to open up the EXS24 - over to the top right hand side are two buttons - Edit and Options. Click on the Edit button to open up the editor window.

Now drag your vocal part from the Arrange window into the edit window (you may have to cut it at an appropriate place if its long, or, as you say, you could just cut it before the one word if its possible - this is where you'll have to decide for yourself what works best for the material). You should be able to play your vocal sample at different pitches along the keyboard now (it should play back at the original pitch on C3) and use the pitch bend wheel when you want to.

And don't forget to save that as an EXS24 instrument (it should prompt you if you attempt to exit or close the project though).

Hopefully that should work for you.
