Sims 2 versus SIMMS: That's what happens when us techies stumble over an unknown game reference!

Karen: instructions on adding RAM are at eMac - Do-It-Yourself. It's easier than it sounds; just be sure to follow the tips about discharging static electricity. My favorite online reference for determining what type RAM goes with which computer is Crucial; they have an excellent reputation for testing and backing what they sell. If you're not sure exactly which Mac model you have, check the details in Apple System Profiler (go to the Apple Menu in the Finder, select About This Mac, and click on the More Info button); also check How to identify the model of your eMac.

You'll have to check that your particular Mac model has the right ATI graphics card to play the Sims 2. Offhand, I believe the newer 1.42GHz (the numbers refer to the computer CPU's clock speed) model eMacs can play the Sims 2, and the 1.2GHz models may as well, but older eMac models probablly can't meet the graphics processor requirements.

I was confused myself by your conversation with her. I couldn't figure out where you were getting DIMMs and SIMMs... It wasn't until your last post that I figured out that you misunderstood what she meant by "sims 2"... 🙂

Anyway, Karen... try installing it again and this time note the exact error message you're getting (word for word) and post it here.
