I bet that the number of opinions will be equal to the number of individuals responding. I think cases are real personal. For example, I've got this leather case from Belkin, but it appears that they don't make it anymore. The way its designed it protects the edges, back and face without being annoyingly big. And leather feels good in my hand.

And not to sound too snotty, the Louis Vuitton iPhone case was the best one I ever had (got it as a gift). Sadly, it didn't fit the 3GS.

I agree, cases are very personal opinions. I have about 10 cases. The ones I come back to are made by Otterbox. I have the Defender case which I modified by removing the screen protector and using my own, and removing the speaker covers. Makes the phone bulky so I only use when our family geocaches and my kids will be handling the phone outdoors. For daily use I use the Otterbox impact. Much slimmer, makes the phone less slippery but still sexy. Great impact protection, and easy on/off. They have the new Commuter line now that look very nice. And no, I don't work for Otterbox, just love their products. If you buy, get it from Amazon - much less expensive there.

Otterboxes are like bank safes! I have one for my MBP, because I carry it on my touring motorcycle. I'm thinking about one for my iPhone for the same purpose...long distance touring in lousy weather on my motorcycle!

i have bought 2 iphone cases from iphonecaze last month, they both look great!
they are very trendy with the shiny surface, the argyle pattern makes the case looks different and special. i especially like the circle over the apple. so everyone knows mine is iPHONE ;D
I have been using the argyle style for a few weeks,i am a superb careless person,i dropped my iphone twice within 2 weeks 😟 ,so lucky that my iphone still function well and the case still looks as new.i can just barelly see a small scratch at the side. it costs USD$32 only, it is worth and even cheap to get such a good quality iPhone case.i will try the other one next week 😀

I have the CandyShell AquaBerry Blue case by Speck. Best case on the market for overall protection, comfort, and good looks. Can be purchased at an Apple Store for $35.98 or you can order directly from http://www.speckproducts.com and if you enter the code: devcamp50 you get 50% off your entire order!

With this case on, the feel of the iPhone bare naked is still what you feel but with protection.

I have used the Otterbox and think it's the best out there for all around protection. It's a little on the bulky side, so when I'm in the mood to use something less bulky, I use the newest version of the Incase Leather sleeve. Incase has updated it to cover all corners. I really like it as it fits the phone like a glove.

I was using the Defender case by Otterbox too, but gave it up for the Speck CandyShell because with the Otterbox the silent switch was not accessable and the silicone sleeve always looked a mess or got dirty. Plus it was bulky to carry in the pocket.

The Speck CandyShell allows the silent switch to be operable and with the inside being a rubberized silcone it adds shock protection to the iPhone where as the hard outer shell gives nick and dent protection. Plus the CandyShell doesn't add much at all to the iPhone's thickness and slides in and out of your pocket with ease. Feels much better holding then with the Otterbox case on it.

Otterbox does make a fine solid case though and would be my 2nd choice. The Otterbox case is not water proof though, so you get about the same protection with the Speck CandyShell case as you do with the Otterbox cases.

Both are great cases for protecting the iPhone!

the best choice would be any that completely covers the headphone jack and the power connector port... the water indicators in those location can trip easily and cause you major headaches when trying to explain to Apple that your phone never had water damage...

my original 3G NEVER was in water but had a spillage accident that was quickly cleaned up. not much got on the phone but there was enough to roll down into that port and trip the indicator, they refused to work on it!!!

my question from the beginning was how can you have a water indicator right out in the open?? every phone i have ever had has had them under the battery NEAR the phones circuitry and if water got to it, you got it on the phone's board?!?! with all of Apple's advances, they fell extremely short here but I am sure it was a way for them to get out of alot of repairs!!!

the otter box has the rubber snap-in shields to protect them both, i love it!

EDIT: saw the candyshell... they are no good because both the ports are wide open and give you absolutely no moisture protection!

(yes, there is not a completely waterproof case out there unless you want to make your phone bulletproof... but drips can trip the indicators so you don't need waterproof, you need as much water resistant protection as you can get)

I just tried it again too, and you are right the code has expired. I just used it for my 3rd time early last week.

Oh well, thanks for letting me know the code isn't valid any longer.

As far as waterproof goes around the ports, more people use their iPhone's without cases at all with no protection and many use just the basic silicon cases with very little protection. Must not be too many complaints of water tripping the iPhone or Apple would have done something about it by now. Even with the OtterBox having the plugs covering the ports, that still will not make it water tight. Just dust tight.
