Question

error 12004

I'm getting an error 12004 when I try to download a rented video. Anyone have any suggestions?

Ok i have test it.

The File is 2,17 GB 2gb loaded and break with 12004

this movie is buy ( Sex and the City ) Same problem with watchman 🙂

after 2gb it breaks.

The download breaks at 2GB with error 12004, very frustating...

I get the same error when I download TomTom Europa the iPhone App. After 1.5Gb (from 1.72Gb) it stops with this error.

"There was a problem downloading “TomTom Europa”. The network connection was lost.
Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again."

But the connection seems to be fine. I am even downloading the iPhone 4.0 now.

And I now also get another error when downloading TomTom Europa:

1,52Gb of 1,83Gb - stopped (err= 3250)

I have the same problem. I can't download any updates through iTunes. I can download new apps in iTunes on my Mac, and I can update the apps on my iPhone and transfer the updates to my Mac, but not download the updates directly on the mac.

Error 12004. 😟

I still do not understand those errors nor did I find a list which explains those errors. What solved the problem for me was going to another network connection and download there.

Didn't work for me. Tried to use tethering from my iPhone (and turning off WiFi on both units), but stil the same result. :-/

To be more precise, I switched to another internet provider (in another country actually, I was travelling). That made the errors disappear for me.

I have the same problem trying to download podcasts to my macbook and iphone. Funny thing is that about one in ten seem to work. No obvious trend. I have changes ISPs and used a proxy server with the same result. This problem is not exactly new but it used to occur only very occasionally.

I turned off my firewall completely and everything started working immediately.... ?

At first I had tried as we all have, with various issues causing it, mine was doing the same thing without a reason I could figure out. After switching this and that, the firewall being the last one I turned off, and may or may not have anything to do with it. But then I logged into Apple to check the groups discussions, then tried homesharing and it started working. I have no idea why, but it started working..... still connected to Apple.

Hope someone else has the same success.

I am getting the same issue.

I tried all troubleshooting methods here but nothing works.

Firewall, proxies, changing location, loging in and out of the Apple ID, iTunes still doesn't let me upgrade my apps!

Any other solution please?
