Saving Custom Crops

In Lightroom2, when I initiate a custom crop, that option is added to the list of crops and is available for me when I need to use it again (3.5x 2.5). In Aperture 2 The original crop works great, but when I open the very next shot, I have to generate the new crop again instead of having that option available for me in the drop-down menu. I am sure that Aperture can do this mundance task - what am I missing?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Not sure if this helps, but this is what I do
I have a set of image templates that I save in a "Template Project"
I have images with diffrent crops in this
When I need to crop a new image I just Lift from the template image then Stamp the new one
This way I dont take any of the metadata from the template only the crop adjustment
This procedure can be implemented in for many other corrections
