I'm trying to buy an app, and when I sign on, it says the zip code for my debit card doesn't match the bank records.

I have had the same debit card and used my parents' address as my permanent address for three or four years. Additionally, I have not changed the address or records in my Apple account for the same amount of time. I've tried re-entering everything, but it does not work.

Is this an iTunes problem or a bank problem?

I'm also unable to use PayPal as a payment method on iTunes. I've gotten to the point to where it tries to re-direct me to iTunes, but it times out.

Any help? Thanks in advance.

I upgraded to Snow Leopard yesterday and I am having the exact same problem. I have been using the same card and address on here for a while and all of a sudden it says the zip code does not match the bank.

Just to be sure I checked my bank statement and it does match. Pretty stupid since I am waiting to buy something!

    Get it together Apple.

Actually sometimes the bank uses 3rd party programs to process internet transactions. This can cause a difference in the formatting of the Address and other things when they update there records. If everything doesn't match exactly with the address they have on file with the bank and 3rd party program, iTunes' senstive system will kcik it back

I'm having the same problem. I tried to buy an app and iTunes told me the zip code was invalid. I checked and it's the same as it's always been. I got on my computer and logged on and iTunes told me the same thing. I emailed Apple support and they told me to verify with the bank. Even though the address hasn't changed in years and previously worked in iTunes with no issue I called the bank and it was exactly what I have typed in. I have since made purchases on other sites with this card and there has not been a problem.

So now I'm stuck. This is the only card I have and all the information is verified correct by the bank yet iTunes continues to tell me the zip code doesn't match.

I'm having the same problem, too. I was issued another debit card which I never had an issue with, but after entering in the new card #, security code, and Exp date... the thing keeps coming up "invalid zip code. I really wish someone from Apple or another fellow iTunes user who has resolved this would step up and help us out.

I'm having the same issue. I purchased 1 app. I attempted to purchase another a few days later and I'm getting the ZIP code error. I called the bank and the teller told me that the $1 approval that they use to test the transaction went through for every attempt I made and there's nothing else the bank can do. I'm now waiting my 24 hour period to see what ITunes Support has to say.
