Install Button not Working !

Hello All,
After installing SL 10.6, I am experiencing a problem when trying to update softwares in general.
Directing downloading from Apple or using Software Update, when it comes to click in the install button it simply does nothing.....it gets grey for a while and comes back.
Before when installing anything a window would prompt for me to input my password, but now nothing happens.
Any clue ?

a number of people had such problems because of using custom keyboard layouts. are you using one?
delete the file /Users/username/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.HIToolbox.* and log out/in. see if you can authenticate after that.

Hi,

I was having the same problem and now I could also authenticate my Mac OS.

However, the keyboard (US International) is not working in some programs, like Mail or Finder. It is working in Pages. I am also using a Brazilian Portuguese layout.

Any help on this issue?

I found the answer to keyboard layout issue. Perhaps other people might find it useful.

All you have to do is go to Language & Text in the System Preferences, than click on Input Sources, than choose the layout U.S. International - PC.

Honestly, if there is no solution for this I am going to give up and reformat everything.

Hi, I've done what you asked and I could authenticate and upgrade my Mac OS.

And yes I am using a Brazilian Portuguese custom layout.
