ffmpegx - applescript problem?

Following upgrade to Snow Leopard, I reinstalled ffmpegx and on booting get: "AppleScript Error ... «class psxf» "/Applications/ffmpegX.app/Contents/Resources/Scripts/lcdlib.scpt" of «script» doesn’t understand the «event sysoload» message. (-1708). If I click Continue, I get more AppleScript errors and can't link to the binaries.

I had, previously, no problem with OS 10.5x -- any clues?
