I have recently upgraded to Itunes 9 and purchased a ringtone. Despite checking that when syncing this are ticked and checking my computer is authorised is am unable to find or use it on my iphone 3GS. There are several discussions on here highlighting this problem but does anyone have an answer as to where they might be hiding on my iphone???
I purchased the ringtones via itunes on my iphone. They appear in the itunes ringtones library and show up when syncing the phone. I do not recall being made aware that ringtones could not be used in the UK.
as soon as I downloaded and synced immediately after purchased they did fleetingly appear on my iphone. I selected sounds and highlighted the downloaded ringtone and thought that was it however
checking a few mins later it had disappeared. Itunes have charged me for these ringtones which I presume indicates they are available??
Itunes ringtones are now available in the UK but if after downloading you synced without stopping the ringtone being part of the sync it will have gone to your PC's itunes store. When it states that it can only be on one device it really means it and that includes the itunes site. You have to just keep it on the phone.
so...if I buy a ringtone on my iphone it is advisable not to tick the sync button otherwise it will transfer to itunes library and I will be unable to use it on my phone?
That's what happened to me first time I downloaded one. My phone was set to sync everything automatically and first time all of a sudden ringtone was gone and was sitting on PC itunes site. Now don't sync automatically and ringtones is excluded when I do.
