Welcome to Apple Discussions.

This* is the correct power cord: a 922-7139. It is designed to fit all intel-processor based iMac models, and is available in localized versions for many nations outside the US.

The other suggestions aren't even close…

I may not have been sufficiently careful reading the page at that link, as I noted that it referred to the 922-4725, which—as you know—is used with the iMac product family based upon the PowerPC G4 processor.

Though the 922-6438 power cord used with the iMac G5 product family looks nearly identical to the later 922-7139, there is a subtle difference between the thickness of the plastic collar on the end which attaches to the machine across the two parts.

Sorry… You are correct about what I referred to: I was looking at the prior post by another contributor.

WeLoveMacs has identified the correct part for this specific application, but their contention that " *Apple has replaced this part 922-6438 with part 922-7139." is simply incorrect. Apple has not done so, and though the parts appear very similar, they are different.

This is a commonly encountered problem in the industry, however, as many vendors just don't have the degree of knowledge required to properly identify specific parts, and often convey erroneous information.
