Why doesn't my DVD play automatically?

I am making a batch of 20 DVDs using DVDSP. The first copy I made plays on my PowerBook once I open DVD Player (unlike my commercial DVDs that play automatically once I put them into the computer). I have copied and pasted the contents of my original DVD onto a new disc that doesn't play when I open DVD Player, in stead I have to go to File - Open DVD Media... and then choose the DVD's VIDEO_TS folder in order to play the disc.

1) Why does the copy I made work differently from my original disc??
2) How can I make my DVDs play automatically once I insert them into my computer?

Many, many thanks

I'm just dragging the files onto a new DVD rather than using Toast. I'll use Toast from now on and select UDF/DVD-ROM. However, do you know how to make DVDs play automatically when they're inserted? The original disc I burnt in DVDSP only plays when I open DVD Player. My commerical DVDs however play automatically. any ideas? I have already set my root menu to be 'First Play' in the Graphical View. leao

HI Leo
A few other things to try - just do the build in DVDSP, then drag the VIDEO_TS folder this creates into Toast and try this as your master disc ( make sure your delete the .layout and .lay files from the VIDEO_TS folder, these are just for DVDSP and could cause probs in a set top player).
If the disc still won't autoplay, try creating a track with 2 sec of black and make that your First Play, then end jump that to your root menu.
What you're describing seems quite unusual - I've not had this problem with any disc I've created.
Hope this helps
Cheers
