Faulty Wifi On 3GS?

Need some info about the wifi on the 3gs. Seems mine is acting up from day one.

Had the 3g prior to getting the 3gs in june, i use the wifi at home all the time on the iPhone, my router is the eircom netopia.

I always used the wifi at home when on my 3g, connection was perfect, never any problems. But when i switched to the 3gs, thats when i started having the problems.

What's happening is, i'll be using the wifi and go to load a page and it'll just hang. I then have to go into the phone settings and turn off the wifi for a min then back on again for it to work. This happens all the time.

Also, the signal gets week and drops out completely when i'm in my kitchen. But this never happened with my 3g, perfect signal all over the house.

Has anyone came across any of these problems? Bad wifi on the 3gs or faulty phone?

Thanks

I have noticed that my 3GS has an inconsistent Wifi connection, too. I use a Time Capsule and, although, the Wifi has never completely disconnected, I can watch the signal indicator jump all over the place while I'm sitting in one spot. This happens regardless of how close or far I am to the router, and my wife's 3G (and my old 3G) never have this issue. I've restored the phone to factory settings twice and the issue remains.

Would love to see a resolution to this.

yes. This happens to me all of the time. Has been happening since the day that I brought mine home in way back in June.
It has just become a part of my daily life and after my iPhone 3GS has been asleep for a period of time, I just assume that there will be no wifi so I just disconnect and reconnect automatically now.
Hopefully and patiently waiting for a fix but so far nothing.

We are not experiencing this at home; but in some areas of the free wifi it takes a very long time to get connected to their WiFi and for the agreement site to load (up to 3-4 minutes), once connected it disconnects when you lock the iPhone/iPod and have to go through the connection again (but you don't have to re-confirm the agreement).

The WiFi at home we have not had any issues including in the garage where the signal is week.

I have a brand new 3GS that has very unreliable wifi access as well.

When I connect to the wifi in my office, it will work for a few minutes but then, even though it shows the connection is there, it will not transfer any data.

The only thing is, mine works perfectly well at home with my wifi network, just not at my office on our company wifi - except for a few minutes when I turn the device on. This happens with two different wifi networks in our office that I have tried. All of our iPhone 3G users have no problems with these networks.

Again, I have no problem with my home network so I don't think it's the wireless card in the device.

If I turn the phone off and back on, it will work for a few minutes. Resetting the network settings does not correct the issue.

This is a brand new iPhone 3GS running 3.1.2 OS. Judging by the number of posts like this, it seems like the 3GS is exceptionally prone to wifi problems.
