The printer is a HP Color LaserJet CP1518. If plugged directly in a port with a static IP, i am able to set it up no problem and it is available over the internet. The problem i'm having is sharing it using OSX server 10.6. It's plugged in via USB to the server and the server recognizes it and can print to it. The print service is running and there is a queue for it. I've logged into CUPS ( localhost:631 ) andchanged the config so printers are shared and are shared over the internet. But i have not been able to connect to it and print to it over the net.

Seems like i've done everything right. Maybe it's just how i set it up on a client computer. What do i need to enter in the add printer dialog? I've tried just entering the domain name if the server ( available over the net ), but it never finds the queue, it does say the address is valid though.

Don't plug it in USB, that cripples it. Plug it into the Ethernet Switch. Give it a "private" Address, like 192.168.0.250 (or some address that is in your DHCP Subnet, and reachable from the Server). Create a Queue for it on the Server, presuming your Server is visible on the Internet, and the Server will store and forward the printstream to the printer.
