Viewsonic VA1916w - resolution problems

Hi

I hope someone can help. I have a Viewsonic VA191w. It was working fine until I moved it on the weekend to clean underneath it. Somehow, I managed to stuff up the resolution. All I had was a blank desktop. It is hooked up to my Macbook laptop.

I went into system preferences using the laptop and changed the resolution to 1400 x 900. Now the quality of all printed words is appalling! Photographs and other images are fine, but writing is awful - not clear at all, quite blurry in fact.

Can someone help???

Is 1440 x 900 an option within Displays Prefs? That's where it should be set for text to look right.

Thanks for the response. Yes, I tried to set it for 1400 x 900, but I get a message saying that it should be set to that setting, which seems to indicate that it's not staying at this setting.

Any hints?

Not 1400 x 900. 1440 x 900. Is that a choice?

OK, in that case, see if you can find how to do a master reset of the monitor. You may need to refer to the user manual. It should be in the menu system somewhere. Try that and see if it cleans up text.

Hi

I've looked everywhere for ways to reset the monitor, but to no avail. I've searched through all the menus, the manual and the CD that came with it. Grrrr!

Under the Setup menu is there something called Memory Recall? You may have to scroll down a list on the Viewsonic's OSD to see that command. I believe that's the one you are looking for.
