20" display light flashes short-long-short.

20" display light flashes short-long-short.

I have read the support document about what the short-long-short light flashing means.
Apparently the monitor is using the wrong power supply.
Problem is, is that the monitor is still using the exact same power supply that came with it.
I have swapped out the brick with another working one and I still receive the same error.
The monitor is out of warranty so I turn to the forums for someone's possible solution.

Is this an Apple monitor or some other brand? I assume you have a flat screen monitor.

What Mac are you using the monitor on & what OS?

Is the whole screen flashing & does anything else show on the screen? Does it occur on startup or after it's been on for a while. Basically we need more info.

Sorry for the lack of information.
Yes it is an 20" Apple display and it has been hooked up to 3 different macbooks and a powermac G5 all running either 10.5.8 or 10.6.1

The whole screen is just blank. No flashing or anything else on the screen.
Dark as the night.

I have swapped out with different power supplies with the same issue.
All it does is flash the front light with that specific pattern.

If the power button on the display is flashing, two short flashes then a long flash, in a delayed repeating pattern, this indicates trouble with either the inverter board or related cables or connectors.

To check whether the LCD is working:
• Press the launch button on the display which will bring up the Display Preferences window (if the screen is blank you will not see the window). Shine a bright light such as sunlight or a high intensity lamp into the screen and at the same time notice whether you can see a faint image of the Display Preferences window or other desktop items on the screen.
– If desktop items can be seen, the LCD panel is working. The problem may be with
the inverter board or related cables or connectors.
– If no desktop items can be seen, the problem may be with the LCD panel or the
main board or related cables or connectors.

I already changed the power adapter but it didn´t help.
