Q: Mini display port to HDMI problem

10.6.7 on MBPro 13" Mid 2010 -> Samsung UE32C4000

Hope this helps someone.

My problem turned out to be that the mini displayport to HDMI adaptor failed which the local Apple store replaced under warranty (part No. APRCN10330 www.apr_products.com).  I tried absolutely everything else to resolve the problem including erasing HD and resetting to factory settings before getting the adaptor checked, as it was new I just thought it was unlikely to be faulty.

The guy at the apple store did say that he had come accross this before. So its worth getting this checked.

I now have a problem with my macbook pro mdp to hdmi.

It was working fine on my 32" T.V up until a week ago, when it started failing. The Mac now flashes off 3 times, and never connects to the TV (screen remains blue).

This morning i received another mdp to HDMI, this one does nothing at all. I have tried on 2 T.V's with 3 Different HDMI leads. which are 1.8 metres (one is the one ive always used).

Any help on this would be much appreciated

To fix this problem go to settings>Displays>Arrangement>then click mirror displays. that was my problem so i hope it works for you.

I have tried this, however there is no mirror windows option,  as the Arrangement option with the  displays is no longer present

has anyone tried after updating to 10.6.8? or with the developer previews of lion?

I just installed 10.6.8 and it fixed my problem. Looks like they got my many messages on how to fix it. Well, my problem anyways.

I have a problem as you got I got Samsung SyncMaster SA350H 24" LED monitor and I could not get the out untill doing what Ponponhead said. I was able to use the monitor via VGA but HDMI did not work and now I can get the picture with HDMI. Thank you Ponponhead.

I`m desperate due to this problema.

I was eagerly awaiting for 10.6.8 hoping that it would solve my problem but it did nothing.

My external display stopped working after 10.6.6 and i`ve tried many things.

Now, i just bought 3 new adapters (vga, dvi and a new hdmi) hoping that it can solve.

So, Apple will just not answer us ? What can we do?

weird... so i had this problem and searched up this thread while trying to get it to work. i decided to move so i unplugged the power for a sec and tried it again and it worked. idk if its related but just thought i'd put it out there.

I mean if you are going to put something in to the device you are creating follow the specifications. Android and other tablets are being hit with this problem as well.
