Center Channel Extraction/Isolation in Logic 8?

Is there an easy way to extract or isolate the center channel of a stereo file in Logic 8. I have figured out a rigged method for extraction by bouncing the mp3 as a split stereo file, inverting one half, and then bouncing it again as a normal stereo. This is pretty inefficient, and I still haven't been able to figure out how to combine this file with the center channel missing back onto the original to leave only the center. I know there are basic programs out there like GoldWave that can do this very simply. Surely Logic has this function too! Please help as the manual is mute on the subject.

Easiest way is to insert the Direction Mixer plug-in, set it to MS mode and select only the Right side of the stereo output on the channel strip mono/stereo select button.

Of course that gives you center only, but playing through one side of your stereo image. ;o)

Then you need to insert a Gain plug-in after it and set it to "mono".

Does that do what you need it to do?
