syncing outlook calendar to Ipod

I am unable to sync my Outlook calendar to my Ipod using iTUNES. My contacts sync just fine but iTUNES does not see any calendars to sync with. Where does iTUNES look to find the calendar? Perhaps it is not in it's usual location and iTUNES does not search for it. If I knew where iTUNES expects to find the calendar, I can correct the problem.

Hi Ron,

I don't know if this will help you but this is the way I have mine set in iTunes.

Check ~~ Sync calendars with Outlook
Check ~~ Selected calendars
Under 'Selected calendars' Check ~~ Calendar (not Home or Outlook Calendar) if you have these options
Uncheck ~~ Do not sync events older than 0 days. (If you have days listed it will NOT sync anything older than what's specified).

I use Windows XP with iPod Touch 2g but I wouldn't think that would matter but I could be wrong. You could always give it a try and see what happens.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply but my problem is that in the window "selected calendars", it is empty even though I have two active calendars that I use in Outlook. Somehow, iTunes does not see these calendars and I am afraid that iTunes is looking in the wrong place. Can you tell me what version of Outlook you are using and what is the path to the calendar that your version of iTunes is seeing and syncing with?

Thanks again, Ron

I have the same issue and no one at Apple can tell me if iTunes is looing in the Outlook.pst file for the Calendar data. In any case, when it updated my Hotmail account with Outlook Connector, I could no longer sync.

The Calendar box in iTunes Info folder has no calendars listed and I have 4 Calenders in Outlook. I created an Outlook.pst file to see if iTunes would sync and no help. After I installed the Connector for Hotmail, the Outlook data file becomes a .ost file and I could no longer sync.

If I get an answer to my inquiries, I will let you know. I use Outlook 2003 SP3, iTunes 9 and iPhone 3.1.2.

Good luck, Marv

I tried doing some research as to where iTunes looks for Outlook Calendars, Contacts etc. Please go to this link and this might help you.

The title of this article is: *Syncing contacts and calendars to iPod with iTunes for Windows*

I am using Windows XP SP3, iPod Touch 1g with 2.2.1 firmware (don't have the guts to upgrade to 3.1.2 yet) since all is working fine and iTunes 9.0.1.8.

Hope this helps! Good luck. 🙂

Yes, the main calendar from Outlook 2007 sync without any problems. I now sync through a google calendar as that allows me to sync through wifi but again only the main calendar. So near yet so far.

Sync through iTunes for the Outlook Calendar works but only the man calendar none of the other calendars show in the "info" settings. I'm using the lattest itunes 9.0.2.25, Outlook 2007 (12.0.6514.5000)SP2 with Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3.

This is probably the wrong place to say it but it looks like an Apple software problem to me.

I am having a similar (same?) problem as the OP and I hope you guys will be able to help me out.

I'm using Windows 7 x64 with Outlook 2007 (both have all the latest patches and updates). Every time I check the "Sync Calendars" box, Outlook crashes. The error code in the Event Viewer is something obscure; Googling it returns three hits, all in foreign languages.

After I restart Outlook, iTunes syncs OK and Outlook does not crash, but only my contacts are synced. iTunes apparently doesn't even try to look for the calendar. Outlook will not crash again until I uncheck "Sync Calendars" again.

Here's what I've tried so far:

1) Upgraded iTunes from 9.0.1.18 to 9.0.2.25.

2) Uninstall\reinstall iTunes.

3) Disable\Enable Outlook plug-in.

Possibly important: I'm have the latest beta of the Outlook Hotmail Connector installed, but it's not my primary account. The primary account is a big-standard POP3 account with a PST.

Any suggestions?
