my telus sierra wireless compass 597 "no device detected"

help I've only had my mac for 2 month so I'm really mac dumb!
I installed snow and now my wireless usb isn't detected so I had to revert to leopard just so I could get on the internet to figure this out, I tried unplugging it and also restarting my mac, it doesn't show up anywhere, nothing works
please help

Did it come with any installation software? If so, you will have to reinstall it under Snow Leopard.

You may have no option other than to wait. I have a Rogers USB 3G stick that I can coax to work under Snow Leopard, but it doesn't work with my VPN, so my primary machine will have to stay Leopard until this is resolved.

thanks I just phoned Sierra people and they said they just came out with the update so yeah! I have internet and SL it was so easy took less than 5 minutes to do

I'm having the same problem with my Telus Sierra 597e. Not detected since 10.6.1 upgrade the other day. Great that you managed to get Sierra to send you a patch. Can you post it for the rest of us? Not present on Telus' or Sierra's site and no one working over weekend. Thanks very much.

Just found the solution via the MacUpdate site. Works with the above aircard and gives you an updated Watcher that looks a bit sleeker than the old one. Download from:

I dragged my older Watcher Lite into the Sierra Watcher folder which also contains the uninstall. I then dragged the newer Watcher into the Applications root folder. There are few more preference items to modify as you desire. I also renamed the Network Preferences connection profile from the generic 3G Connection to Telus Aircard....whatever you want. Can then delete the old Sierra Telus profile.
