Exchange account keeps getting locked

I am having a problem that crops up every few days. Mail starts asking for a password, under the covers my Windows domain account used by Exchange has gotten locked. A little digging, the action that locks the account is an authentication failure coming from Exchange. This likely means Mail is not getting the right info to Exchange.

At the time this happens, the only mail client running is Mail on my laptop.

I have checked my Keychain, all passwords for my domain account through various other services are all correct.

When this is happening, it's happening when I'm logged in on an Ethernet connection. Possible it is happening a short while after I plug my laptop in after being wireless so I may be switching IP addresses.

This has now happened to me two days in a row.

Any guesses on this, known issues, ? I cannot find anything while searching on this topic.

Same problem at my workplace. Exchange 2007 Server w/Mac Mail seems to be constantly locking the exchange account. Also, while Snow Leopard Mail claims to support Exchange IMAP, this doesn't seem to be working on our 2007 Servers that also have IMAP ports open (143 and 443 for https).

The only other interesting note about our exchange environment is that we apparently have a mix of 2003 and 2007 servers, and they all communicate to each other regarding the status of the exchange / Active Directory Domain account.

I'm curious if the OS X devs are aware of this issue or if anyone else has figured a workaround for this.

The problem started when I changed the SSO password. People suggested there could be some password caching somewhere. But I have tried practically everything:

1) uninstall Office for MAC
2) reset all passwords in keychain
3) restore from time machine the last known working snapshot
4) even using webmail, the domain account still locked after a while. IT support personnel blamed my mac but they couldn't find any evident in the log.
5) BTW, using a PC laptop for a day and I was able to access email throughout the day so I guess something on Mac that tried to access exchange server w/ invalid/old password that caused the lock out. So far, I couldn't find any solution to resolve this issue. Hopefully, I don't have to reimage my mac 😟
