Apple will not allow us to transfer files using bluetooth because so many pirates and hackers would do it. Those guys ruin it for all of us, but I'm glad that Apple is watching over us users like that.
well i was misunderstood.
it says "File Share allows you to send and receive files from other users through bluetooth. Send photos, videos, files, and contacts easily."
BUT i noticed that you can transfer files between iphones and iPod.
I keep forgetting that Apple opened up bluetooth even more to developers since the 3.0 update. I would have to go and take a look at the bluetooth options as they are now on 3.0 and get back to you, as I don't want to give you anymore false information. I apologize.
I just wanted to get the pictures that taken from my friend's cell phone. (not an iPhone). Sending through MMS or photo text message seems slow and sometimes didn't work
I have iPhone 3GS and I was trying to get the photos that was taken from SAMSUNG cell phones. My friend turned on his Bluetooth and I turned on my bluetooth too.
He could only find me and I couldn't see his in my list.
Does the Samsung have a SD Card? If so, you could transfer the files to your computer, you can then transfer them to your iPhone through iTunes. Besides email and MMS, I can't really think of a quick way.
There are apps out there that might allow you to transfer files via bluetooth or USB, but only the files that are inside of the folder designated for that app. You can't just send pictures, or ringtones, or any file on the iPhone via bluetooth.
