Hi there. Is it possible, or advisable, to have my iTunes Library on a NAS box attached to my network? The library is getting too large for my internal hard disk so I want to move it off. I was thinking of investing in a NAS box anyway, will iTunes work with the library residing on the NAS box?

Hi everyone. The main reason for this enquiry is to reduce the amount of hard disk space on my PC. I also see that there is now a Home Sharing option in iTunes, which is another reason I was considering moving my library to a NAS drive.

If I use Home Sharing, do I need to keep the PC with all the music stored on it switched on all of the time? I'd rather not do that, which again makes me think that a NAS box would be better.

Can anyone please help me to work out the best way of achieving this?

    Thanks

I have been using a Lacie ethernet mini home edition for about a year and it works very well. I keep my itunes library on it and stream my movies to my apple tv. The only problem I am having since I upgraded to SL is I can't download my podcasts. This is an issue that I have seen in the discussion groups. I hope apple resolve it soon.
