Why can't the iTunes read my iPhone?

I sometimes get that iTunes cannot read the disk on my iPhone when sycning.

I just got the iPhone last week. Could it be the cable? Thanks.

Not sure what's your set up like. But if you are using (say) an iMac, then you probably get a message like that when you try to sync your iPhone with the iTunes by connecting the dock connector to the USB on the keyboard vs. using the one on the mac (computer). Also make sure if your iTunes is running on the latest update just in case if you are on an older version.

It would not recognize that my iPhone is connected for syncing. I simply restarted my mac and have not seen that issue again.
