ARD 3.3.1 Can copy, send messages, but can't observe or control.

Hi,
I have the following setup:

Client: iMac with 10.5.8/ARD 3.3.1 at work
Admin: MacBook 10.6.1/ARD 3.3.1 at home

I'm trying to observe/control client machine over WAN, but can only copy and send messages. I can observe/control via LAN/wireless LAN. Remote management is enabled in sharing settings on client. Ports 3283 and 5900 (TCP/UDP) are forwarded and open. I can authenticate and see the status, current application, current user, Mac OS version. It seems to me there's some kind of problem with port 5900, but I can't figure out what the problem might be as this port is properly forwarded and is open. Firewall on client is opened to all incoming connections. I have spent almost a week trying to figure this one out with no luck( I've read this forum from top to bottom - still no solution.

Can anyone suggest anything in my case?

Thanks to all!

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.1), ARD 3.3.1

Are you running the Remote Desktop Administrator under an Administrator account?

If you are not logged in as an admin user look under Remote Desktop (menu)-> Preferences... ->Security tab. If the radio button for "Access restricted to the following features" is selected & you might not be allowed to do those features.

Options.
1. make your account an admin account (not recommended)
2. Log into the Remote Desktop admin computer as an administrative account & go back into the preferences -> security & either Select "Full access to all features" (what I do because the you need to know the username & password to the client computers & they can be set up to limit admins anyway) or enable the specific additional features needed for all users using the checkboxes.

I have found what was causing the problems for me. It was a third party firewall program called "NetBarrier" on my client iMac. I hadn't fully uninstalled this app the first time I tried that and, therefore, didn't think about it as being the cause. After fully uninstalling it and restarting my client machine everything works perfect.
