Can't change volume on macbook pro unibody.

Hi , i have a weird problem with my mac now. Whenever I try to change the volume, nothing happens, and the same sign shows up when you try to switch on the keyboard lighting in broad sunlight.

HI,

That's interesting.

Try this... go to ~/Library/Preferences and locate this file.

com.apple.soundpref.plist

Move that file to the Trash and restart your Mac.

If that doesn't help,

Try deleting these files.

com.apple.audio.DeviceSettings.plist

com..apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist

MacintoshHD/Library/Preferences/Audio.

Move those files to the Trash. Restart your Mac.

Hi,
1 Are you using external speakers or an audio interface.
2 The keyboard illumination will not work in sunlight.

Ahh, a silly mistake, someone (my sis probably) had given the audio out to after effects. Anyways, _*THANK YOU*_ all for the responses !
