Uninstalling Macaroni

Hi chaps, at some time I must have downloaded Atomic Bird's Macaroni, investigating another problem I just noticed this in the log:

What is happening here - is it attempting to 'run'. I cannot find macaroni in Sys preferences so I downloaded an old version which had an "uninstall" and ran it but to no avail .... anyone help please ? Roger

1 imac 24" 3.06, 1 x G4 desktop FW 800 and 15" Macbook Pro 2.2, Mac OS X (10.6.1), Got a little Advent PC as well

Appzapper will remove unwanted pref panes - it looks like that's where the problem is

Thanks Nick that's good of you - I have Appzapper and very good it is but there is no sign of the app' (Macaroni) anywhere on the computer if I search with spotlight ... and there is no icon in prefs ... and it's not there in Library etc pref panes - I'm afraid I am lost ! ... Roger

Hi Roger
I wonder if the application 'CleanApp' ( http://synium.de/products/cleanapp/index.html - cost 13US$) might find Macaroni. Its Logging Service seems to find most things on the Hard Disk. Just a thought.

Hi Roger,

Try forcing background maintenance to delete old cache and log files.

Thanks all - DJ - I might try cleanapp but one of my problems is that I can't find any 'physical' reference to the application but I can see in console / log files that every 10 secs the system is looking for Macaroni and not finding it and looking again ! and good of you Nick, I had come across those few paragraphs on the Atomic Bird website and I cannot find any of the files the article refers to ... Carolyn, hi I have (I think) cleared those files using 'Cocktail' - doesn't seem to have done the trick. Anyway thanks one and all for taking the time ... I'll await a response from Atomic Bird support - I hope ... Roger

Well chaps I feel a bit of a fool but ... I eventually downloaded the most recent trial version (I had hesitated to do this as I didn't want to exacerbate the problem by having 2 versions on my system) and when it was installed I could open it from it's icon in sys prefs and it is now gone. Hope I didn't waste too much of your time. Roger
