Mac Mini 42" Plasma display issue

I have been trying to set-up a Mac Mini as a media server. I have connected to a Denon Digital Amp (via DVI/HDMi cable for image and toslink cable for sound), which is connected via HDMI to a 42" Panasonic Plasma TV. I have two issues. Firstly, I have to pick 720p for the best resolution on the screen from the Display settings. However, the display does not fill the whole screen? If I choose overscan setting it more than fills the screen i.e. you don't see the menu bar at the top. Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong? Secondly, the screen is quite dark and I cannot seem to brighten it up? Again, anyone have any ideas?

Many Thanks

Edward

I too am having the same issue. Purchased the Mac Mini, running 10.6.2. The title bar at the top is just a small sliver of grey (unable to see any menu options or text)

Connected to a Samsung 42" Plasma via HDMI.

I tried a few programs downloaded online, was able to view half of the title bar, but all open windows are zoomed in to far.

the bottom dock appears just fine, I basically need to shrink the image just a bit, but how do I go about this??
