iTunes 9.0.1 doesn´t work with iPod

iTunes 9.0.1 freezes when I connect my iPod (3rd Generation) with my Mac Mini (Intel CPU 1,83 GHz, Snow Leopard), the iPod is shown on the desktop but not in iTunes.
What can I do to solve the Problem?

Mac Mini, Mac OS X (10.6.1)
