I downloaded Skype 2.8 for Mac OS X to my iMac some time ago. It appears that there is a separate iPhone App for Skype. Am I supposed to also download the iPhone App to my iMac so that I end up with two versions of the Skype software on my computer? The instructions here leave something to be desired.
Hi Bob: Yes there is a different Skype App that is downloaded to the iPod Touch. It can be found at the App Store. Once downloaded, during the setup process it will ask for your account info. If you are use the same account as on the IMac it should be able to use the same contact list.
Hope this helps

Yes and no... you will have two versions of Skype on your computer, but one will only be appearing in iTunes and your iPod since they are two different app.
You can still have both Skype application open and loged into your account at the same with no problem. There is no special setup to do on your iPod more than login into your account and having credits into your account, exactly as you probably done with Skype on your computer.
stedman and SeaBeast,
Thanks for your helpful feedback. The picture is now looking much more clear!
I note that you are both from Canada. I am leaving tomorrow for a vacation in Nova Scotia and want to be able to use the new Touch while there. Too bad I didn't buy it sooner so that I had it set up and was more familiar with its operations before I hit the road!
