I can get itunes to work and it connects but i can not get it to show up in my computer. under device manager i am getting this:

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

for the Iphone when its connected to my pc.

My first suggestion is to uninstall iTunes and the Mobile Sync data from your PC...then install them again...this normally resolves device errors like this...

This link may also help you...

For some reason the entire link is not clickable...copy and paste the entire link above including the .aspx

Well nothing has worked. i uninstalled all apple software from my pc and installed itunes and restarted and i did get a new driver install called Apple Mobile Device USB Driver but i still can not access my iphone from my computer. there is another device called Apple iPhone and its still giving my the code 19 error in device manager. i checked the upper and lower filters and i had one, and it was the gear thing that belongs to itunes but i still removed that. restarting the apple mobile device did nothing either. i am really stuck here.

i dont know how to fix this problem!

Could this be a vista 64bit issue?

I guess it could be...a 64 Bit compatibility issue... I don't use PC so I can;t say first hand...but if I had to guess I would be almost certain that at least one other user of iPhone has synced successfully with a PC using Vista 64 Bit....

When you are looking at the device manager that shows the driver error...are you able to update driver at all??

Also...are you using iTunes 9.0 or 9.0.1?? Just curious since you're on Vista 64 Bit...

Check out these links..both say it can be fixed by using the steps described in the links....

K...that is the correct one for Vista vs my MAC at 9.0.1...

Have any of those links about correcting the driver data worked??

I'm not at all sure how to do this but I'm pretty sure you can force Vista back to 32 Bit mode...

It would be worth a shot to try that so you can either rule out the 64bit mode being the issue or not...

Fo a google search for how to switch between 32 and 64 bit in Vista...
