How do I know if I need a new battery?

Hi,

I've been using my laptop for two years, but now when I plug in the power adapter it doesn't charge up (i.e. it says 0%). Does this probably indicate I need a new battery?

Either the battery or the DC-in card inside the MacBook. You can test it cheaply if you have a friend with a MacBook and a good battery. Switch your battery with theirs. If their battery charges on yours and yours doesn't on their MacBook then it's the battery. Also you might want to take the battery out and re-seat it to check if it's not making good contact.
