Sent mail folder is empty

Select your Sent mail folder on the sidebar on the left, and then choose the menu Mailbox -> Use This Mailbox For -> Sent.

I'm having the same problems. I checked using Entourage: Sent mail is still there on the server.

There are a number of posts around on this problem. One mentioning large mailboxes not downloading. I moved all sent items to folders using Entourage. These folders then synced OK with Apple Mail, Sent Items folder is now empty both on Mac and on Server.

Still, new sent items are not shown. Tried rebuild Mailbox. Didn't help.

I've had this problem. I've just gone into Mail Preferences/Accounts/Mailbox Behaviors - the 'delete sent messages when' was set to Daily - I've now reset this to Never and my sent mail is now kept rather than lost.

having same problem - only i did no updating the only thing i changed before all my sent message disappeared and all my incoming before oct 10 was an e-mail password
help!!
sent mail was checked to NEVER delete.

I wonder if this is related to the inbox being empty, which is something many people (myself included) had happen with SL.

Try opening mail prefs, Accounts, Mailbox behaviors, and make sure

"Store sent messages on the server"

is checked. If you do this they may all re-appear like they did for me.

For whatever reason, this afternoon 99% of my sent messages have disappeared from my sent folder. They have been there since the account was set up. They are still on the mobile me server. Any ideas how to get them back on my mac?

If still on the server, and accessing as IMAP, as is lately required, you only will have to remove the account, then add it back, and Mail sync with the server, yet once again.
