Harmony remote software quits in primary user account

My Logitech harmony remote software (latest version: 7.6.0.8) crashes when attempting to do nearly any action to my Harmony remote. I had thought it had something to do with upgrading to Snow Leopard since it did work with Leopard. However suspecting something is wrong with my primary user account was confirmed when I tested the software in my admin account and found it works perfectly. I get an extensive error message when the software crashes and it speaks of Java, kernel protection failure etc etc. This seems to be the only problem I am having with my primary non admin user account. Is there any suggested fix for something like this? It is frustrating to know something isn't right.
