Parallels Mounter Fails

I am running a Mac Book Pro 17 (early 2009) 2.93 GHz,8 gigs ram, SL 10.6.1 and Parallels Desktop 4.0.3846. When I boot the Mac in 64 bit mode the Parallels mounter will not mount a VM drive. Parallels explorer will work however. Anyone out there having the same problem? Everything works fine booting into 32 bit mode.

Posted there. They review submittals before they are posted and each time I get a stupid thing to check. Last suggestion was to run chkdsk on my XP VM. This sugestiom was made after I posted that I could not mount any VMs disks including Ubuntu and Windows 7. I can however open disks on all machines with Parallels explorer.
