Switching scratch mid-project(s)

Hi,
I recently installed a second hard drive intended to be used as a scratch disk. I still have projects that remain unfinished that are on my start-up disk. Can I switch my scratch disk without losing the projects? Would I have to manually move the folders over to the new disk? Is there any specific thing I should do (besides designating the new disk the scratch in preferences) in preparation of using this new disk? Just looking to avoid problems...

Normally the project files are stored on the system drive. Changing the scratch disk will not effect anything you have already done. It will only effect material you ingest or render after you change the scratch disk.

Okay, great. I assuming this goes for also changing the waveform cache, the autosave vault and the thumbnail cache?

The autosave vault will continue where it left on in the new location. The older project backups will still be in the old location. The thumbnails and waveform caches can be dumped at any time. FCE just rewrites them when you open the project and the sequence.
