Scroll bar missing

Any particular application or all?

My scroll bars are also missing... particularly from my Microsoft Office programs. The dissaperance just happened yesterday. I was working in Microsoft Word and my scroll bars disappeared yesterday. I went looking for help, but haven't found a solution. Interestingly, I have a scrollbar on the Internet like right now, but not in other programs?!? I went to the apple icon on my computer and checked the preferences per the help, but nothing changed. Any ideas on how do I turn my scroll bars back on in Microsoft Word Mac 2008?

I just posted a message and when I closed this site, my Microsoft word program said there was an error... shut down.. re-opened with a scroll bar?!? Amazing... The question will be if I continue to have a scroll bar... I am still interested if there is a way to turn on and off the scroll bar.

I was forced to force quit Microsoft Word, and when I reopened it, the verticle scroll bar was missing. Oddly, the horizontal scroll bar is still there.

Me too. This happened suddenly after a software update. Updates since then have not solved the problem. It's definitely annoying not having the scrollbar. I'm hoping for help with this.

I just had a similar issue with MS Word. While cursing Bill Gates I looked at the View menu. If you have 'Full Screen' checked, it will eliminate scroll bars. Uncheck this and have a look.

Hi, I should have posted to all of you that I solved the problem, and while "full screen"'s response is right it is not what solved the problem. Actually Entourage also died suddenly, (curses on MSoft!). That problem required that I uninstall/reinstall MSOffice and the scroll bar came back. And when I added the updates, the scroll bar remained. Fortunately, uninstalling and reinstalling took only about 30 minutes and it wasn't a full afternoon job.
