Something happened to my phone. There is no sound on either side when a call is in progress. If i attach head phones, i can hear their sound but they still cannot hear my sound. Has been happening from past couple of days. The phone did not fall down. Increasing ringer volume shows that volume is being increased for headphones even when headphones are not attached. Same with call volume. Any help is appreciated.
CosMac, I feel you. Same problem with me. Happened this morning. Maybe we need to just upgrade the software which I always do. Tech support said get iTunes 9, not sure what that means.
I dont think iTunes 9 has anything to do with it. I have iTunes 9 and iPhone OS 3.0.1. There seems to be another discussion thread about same issue.
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2109599&tstart=45 They talked of Hard Reset but it does not work for me. I hope i dont have to take it to the store to get it repaired.
I just got on the phone with tech support. It was found that my phone was thinking that the head phone is still plugged in. This is because of dirt stuck in the head phone slot. The support person asked me to rapidly insert and remove the head phone jack to dislodge the dirt and it worked. Check if this works for you. If you increase the volume on your phone, it shows 'ringer' and below it '(headphones)'. This indicates that it thinks the headphones are still on.
Hello. I have the same problem. Today, from nothing, I can not hear any sound when I call or someone call me. But if I connect speaker or connect headphone, I can hear very well. HELP!!
