When I sync my iPod the playlist leave off podcasts. This is a new problem. Always synced entire playlist until now. They do show up under podcasts on iPod. Issue is I listen to them when I run using Nike iPod attachment which only allows you to select playlists to listen to - not podcasts.
I am seeing a similar issue with a Windows computer, Win 7, syncing to a 5th gen IPOD, Itunes version 9.0.2.25. I can create new smart playlists with music only and it transfers to my IPOD just fine. Creating a podcast playlist, shows up in Itunes but doesn't sync to the IPOD.
I, too, am having this problem. I have foreign language podcasts that I have organized into different playlists for ease of use. Prior to installing iTunes on my new computer (late November 2009) these synched just fine. Now on my latest iPod sync, none of these playlists synched (they exist on my iTunes but don't make it to my iPod).
I just bought a brand new iPod touch, v3.1.3 and it is not working properly in terms of the podcast. Untill they fix it, do this for now. This works fine and all the pod cast are in perfect order to play:
Right click the PODCAST, not the items within it.
It will ask to change multiple items so put yes.
Go to options tab and change it to an audio book.
All the Pod Cast will be in order under audio book. Remember last position should be checked and you will be all set. Apple has gotta fix this soon!
I had never experienced this problem until I upgraded to the newer iTunes version (9.0.3.15) and iPod touch version (3.1.3)
My previously working Smart Playlist "Audio Podcast" was based on:
Genre is Podcast
Kind does not contain video
After updating and synching, the playlist no longer appeared on my iPod. Other playlists remained unaffected. The playlist in iTunes continues to be properly populated.
When I look at my iPod through the iTunes interface, it claims that the playlist exists on the iPod, but as I mentioned previously, it wasn't visible on the iPod interface.
I powered off and restarted the iPod and synched again = no change.
*This worked:*
Create a new smart playlist, use these settings:
*Media Kind* is Podcast
Kind does not contain Video
